White Water Safety course

The White Water Safety course is a 2 day course aimed at giving you the skills needed for safe paddling with your peers on white water up to grade 2(3).

The course considers practical solutions to common issues and appropriate responses to incidents, as well as thinking through safe approaches to white water paddling to prevent problems in the first place. The topics covered include: emergency planning & procedures, chase boating, equipment rescues, swimming & rescues, and extracting methods as well as scenarios and much more. This course is designed to support paddlers to be independent participants on grade 2(3) white water rivers. Paddlers can access the course with their preferred craft which can include kayaks, rafts, canoes and stand up paddleboards. To get the most out of the course you need to be comfortable paddling grade 2 rivers.
