Paddlesport Instructor course
The Paddlesport Instructor qualification is Paddle UK (British Canoeing)’s entry level award appropriate for those who wish to run introductory or taster sessions and short journeys. This is a great, fun, course that will equip you with practical skills in getting a group on the water and enjoying discovering paddlesports, using games and activities to support learning and inspire adventure.
The two day course is intended to prepare you for your first paddlesport instructing role, working in very sheltered water, using stable craft (kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and sit-on-tops) under the management of an organisation or club. See full details of the qualification and syllabus here.
On the course you will have the opportunity to use kayaks, canoes, paddleboards and sit-on-tops. However you are only assessed in one of these. You should ensure that your personal paddling skills in your chosen craft are of a suitable standard before attending the course. Full details may be found in the course guide.
